Yukon Salon: Preview

Fairway ventures further North to the frigid tundra of the Yukon. He’s decided to quit making and reviewing games to pursue his real passion: styling hair. But not just any hair, lumberjack beards and bear hair. Yes. In today’s preview, Fairway takes a cut at Yukon Salon. The game is coming to Kickstarter, tomorrow.

Sheppy’s Greedy Claw Crane Game: Preview

What exactly is the draw of “the claw?” You know, stick a few quarters in, direct a crane claw over cheap toys, push a button and hope?  Oh, right. They’re frustratingly fun with slot machine like payoffs but the feeling that you actually control the outcome. It’s not true since most of the relevant things are randomized, but it works on us anyway.  This is the premise of the game Fairway previews today: David Sheppard’s Sheppy’s Greedy Claw Crane Game.

Dirigible Disaster: Review

In a busy travel week like Thanksgiving, Fairway picks up yet another game involving terrible modes of transportation (read his review of Eriath: The Worst Ship in the Universe).  Today, he hops aboard the highly flammable Aerclanken ship of Dirigible Disaster.

Hackers Guild: Preview

Let’s jump into the future: corporations now control the world. But not everyone is happy about it. Fairway joins a group of hacktivists in their attempt to break into Monolith corporation’s servers and prevent the complete and total takeover of the world. See whether Fairway is able to exploit his way in or whether the corporation’s network administrator successfully defends the status quo as he previews The Hackers Guild, coming soon to Kickstarter.

Roll Player: Review

Remember the fun of making your character in games like Skyrim? “Hey you, you’re finally awake; You were trying to cross the border right? Walked right into that Imperial ambush same as us, and that thief over there.” ~ Raloff, from Skyrim.  And then five and half minutes later, you finally get to pick your race! Grr… Well, forget loading times and movie sequences. Fairway’s skipping all that frustration and is going play Roll Player, a recent Kickstarter delivery from by Keith Matejka and Thunderworks Games, instead.
